I have a size 9 of the Syncro 7mm boots and have surfed 2 sessions so far in the Canadian Winter. These boots are an upgrade from 5mm O'neill booties i was surfing in previously and I am extremely satisfied with their value and performance. If not for the fabric tabs on the back heel these boots would be impossible to get on, however with use of the tabs and some practice it is actually a quick and simple process, though I recommend doing this somewhere warm indoors as you can loose heat in the process of changing at the break. The boots seem well constructed and I am confident that even with regular use the fabric tab will remain, and even though the neoprene is quite thick I would have to recommend clipping your toenails before putting them on, just in case. I surfed for roughly 4 hours with a 45 minute break in near freezing water and my feet were still warm. The bottom at the entry points at the break I surf at is not the friendliest, jagged rocks and at times exposed rebars, luckily I felt protected with the tough soles on these boots. The worst part about these boots is the effort required to take them off, though they are no more difficult than any other wetsuit boots especially after a tiring cold surf session. These boots are tough, warm, a great value and would be the first on my list recommended to anyone who wants to Surf during the winter in Canada or similar climates.
