I was looking for a comfy, reasonably priced pair of sandals for everyday wear. I live in Hawaii and sandals (we call them slippers out here) are worn by most of the locals for everyday use. On my check list for the perfect pair were the following: comfy, reasonably priced, arch support, rubber straps (i hate when cloth straps get wet and take forever to dry), and resistance to water. After hunting for a pair locally with no success, I searched online for a pair. I checked ALL of the major surf wear manufacturers websites and these were the only pair that met all my criteria. I like them so much, I ended up getting 3 pairs. *NOTE: These are the Hydrobound Haleiwa Sandals, which are constructed of a more water resistant rubber than the regular Haleiwa sandal, which tend to soak water when tjey get wet. That is probably why these cost a dollar more than the regular (non-Hydrobound) Haleiwa Sandal.
