I feel foolish pouring over all the short choices, so excited about what I thought were excellent sale prices. I ordered three pairs of shorts, including these. It's worth noting that the sale varies by the color, but the important part is the name... or style, you're purchasing. Obviously a red short won't be made different than a blue one of the same style. These are thin... like thin-thin. There is no liner and the material itself is... thinner than the thinnest sheets you've ever slept in. I expect that once these get wet, unless you have underwear on... there will be no secrets. Years ago... many, and few... I've purchased another brand, but the disclosure below this says I shouldn't mention a competing brand? The gist is... when I think boardshorts, I expect something substantial. If I had paid the full list price for these shorts I and this is what came in the box I think I'd have gone off the deep end. At one fouth the list price I think they're still below average. I'm so surprised at the cheap feel of all three pair that I'm debating just returning them. Go look at boardshorts in a surf shop. You'll see some in the full list price range, of various materials, that are thick and inspire confidence. If these last one summer I'll be surprised. I bought two pair of this model Cypher Roam... and one pair of the No Frills... and the No Frills are clearly better, but compared to boardshorts that I bought in the past... this is a 1 out of 10 and the No Frills is a 2.
