Close fitting; perfect for layering heavier outerwear over it. I got a medium and I'm slim--about 5'11" and 150 lbs. Warm, but not a lot of bulk so it will go under a shell or down vest easily. I really like the thumb holes, too.

The quality of this jacket is very good. The sizing seems a bit snug around the middle and sleeves. I'm not a big guy by any means, but this jacket is cut for skinny dudes. I'm sure this is due to the fact that it is made to be worn under a shell. However, if you are wearing it as a light coat it seems a bit snug.
