Hawaiian Groms on Fire!

Hawaiian grom Kiron Jabour has been on an absolute roll as of the last couple months….he knocked out 2 division wins at the Haliewa International Open making him a 4X’s HIO Champ. Last week on the Big Island he smoked the cream of the crop winning the NSSA. Recently a piece on Surfline with other N.Shore groms, a full pager in Freesurf and a 2 page spread in a Brazialian mag. Yesterday he did the job at bombing Sunset to take the win and qualify for the Worlds at Narabeen in Jan. 2009.  But it gets better…..Last week's Backdoor Shootout grom standout Tyler Newton, part of the winning BDshootout QS Team that consisted of Pipe specialists Reef McIntosh, Mark Healey and Danny Fuller took a very honorable 2nd place behind Kiron also making his mark that he IS also a major contender.

Marzo Goes to Sacred Hearts School to share with kids about helping make their dreams come true!

Clay was a student at this school and gave back by sharing the life of a surfer on the road. The class showed the YG3 Trailer, Tomorrow Today as well as some of Clay's own movies that he made when he was a grom.   After answering questions he gave autographs and took pictures with all the kids. His sponsors helped by donating hats, posters and stickers to the children.  The theme of the school this month was help make a difference.

Hats Off To Balagrom for Winning the Red Bull New York State Triad!!!
 
In the best of 3 events 16yr old Balaram Stack held his ground- winning the 1st  event at Lincoln Blvd in Long Beach, next was # 2 at Gilgo Beach where he finished in the back 10 but made up the ground at # 3 finishing 2nd behind QS’ Alex Fawess at Pacific Blvd back in Long Beach to take the title!
 
Up in the Northwest NSSA Open Season #1 and 2,  Pacifica locals Brogie and Kadin Panesi used their homebreak knowledge to crush their opposition in back to back NSSA events!!! The younger sibling Brogie (10yr) knocked out his first NSSA victory and keeping it a family affair brother Kadin(12yr) finished  3rd. The same day  Brogie surfed up a division against the 15yr olds and finished 2nd.
The next day it was brother Kadin who took out the win in the Boys div and Brogie in 4th.!!!
 
Other comp news our Surfshot cover boy Johnny Daniels took out the HARRY BENNETT MEMORIAL in Oceanside. In the star studded final Johnny nailed the win against Jason Bennett, Cheyne Magnusson and Thomas Clarke.
