Mazda Art Cars

Quiksilver and Mazda have entered into a unique partnership to help launch the brand new Mazda 5.  Quiksilver artists Natas Kaupas, Randy Noborikawa, Scott Richards and John Paul Altamurano have created mobile canvases by painting a fleet of new cars with insane original artwork and Quiksilver designs.  The Neopolitain car was inspired by the Holiday '05 Cabeza boardshort and Natas script was used in some of the designs.  Kaupas is a world famous graphic designer and Noborikawa and Richards regularly collaborate and display their work throughout Southern California.  Samples of the work can be seen at www.dosplumas.com.

The materials used in painting the cars were: sprays, oils, house paint, enamel, acrylic and coffee. The artists painted multiple layers and textures and even used a suspension system to hover over the vehicles while they worked.  Watch a time lapse video of the making of one of the cars here.

These cars are currently rocking up and down the West Coast and will be prominently featured at upcoming Quiksilver events.
