Letting Go at X-Dance

"Letting Go" and "Shimmer at X-Dance" 

Quiksilver and Roxy were heavily represented at the 2007 X-Dance in Park City Utah.  The five day event celebrates the best of action sports films and is held in conjunction with the world famous Sundance film fest.  "Letting Go" and "Shimmer" were screened to packed houses and enthusiastic applause.  Roxy teamriders Lisa Andersen and Kassia Meador were on hand for "Shimmer" and Kelly Slater made in an appearance in spirit as tons of cutouts of his head appeared on the streets and slopes of the mountain town.

As for the awards, well, our films were nominated for four trophies ("Letting Go" was up for Movie of the Year, Athlete of the Year and Biography of the Year and "Shimmer" was nominated for "Best Cinematography") but came home empty handed.  Competition was stiff as the best movies from genres such as snow, skate, wake, moto and bike were all heavily represented.  Check out www.x-dance.com for the full list of winners and nominees.

But Park City in January isn't just about movies and award shows, there was a whole lot of snowboarding,  partying and celebrity sighting to do as well.  Quiksilver teamriders Scotty Arnold, Hampus Mosesson and Jakob Wilhemson we're shredding the parks and backcountry, while nighttime activities included checking out Mandy Moore, Apples in Stereo and Silversun Pick Ups gigging at an exclusive Jane Magazine party at a mansion in the mountains.  And the long weekend wouldn't have felt complete without sightings of celebs like Heather Graham, Drea de Matteo, Lance Bass and, of course, Dustin Diamond - Screech from "Saved by the Bell."
