Randall Harris Joins Quiksilver Team and Wins Rider of the Year
Secures Top Honors From Wakeboarding Magazine

Randall Harris’ life has been pretty good over the last few months.  At WakeBoarding Magazine’s fourth-annual Wake awards last month, Harris took home two of the most highly coveted awards: “2007 Wake-Rider of the Year and “Video Section of the Year.’ Now, Quiksilver is finally announcing what many in the industry had long suspected: Harris is the newest addition to Quiksilver’s talented wake team. Not bad for a guy coming off a 770 day break from wakeboarding. Randall Harris is your favorite rider’s rider.  The Canyon Lake, CA local and die-hard west coaster blew up the scene 10 years ago with his unmatched intensity and flow. He shared Rider of the Year honors from Alliance Wakeboard Magazine in 2002, dropped one of the greatest sections of all time in "Natural Born Thrillaz" and then disappeared. Rumors abounded. Sightings circulated but were rarely substantiated.  About 8 months ago, people began spotting the legend tearing up his old stomping grounds with his signature freeriding style and pairs of unreleased Quiksilver boardshorts usually reserved for sponsored athletes. Although he was still hush hush about his comeback intentions, the wakeboarding community sensed that Harris was about to make a lot of noise.

Fast forward to today: Harris has a few new trophies to polish and is filming a much anticipated follow up to his award winning segment in “Transgression” which will be due out in Spring 2008.  And, to add to the ultimate feel-good comeback story of the century (rivaling those of fellow Quiksilver athletes Kelly Slater and Christian Hosoi), Harris is now officially riding for Quiksilver, his lifelong favorite apparel and technical goods brand.

“I grew up in Huntington Beach so Quiksilver has always been “the” brand,”” says Harris. “To be a chosen representative of Quiksilver is a dream come true and being a part of the progressive and stylish wake team is a big thing for my career. I fly my Quik flag loud!”

“Although he has been a part of the Quiksilver family for sometime now, it’s great to finally have him officially on the team,” said Quiksilver Wake Team Manager Ben Greenwood (who has been reported to actually fly a Randall Harris flag). “Randall Harris has always been the single most intriguing person in the industry. His story is incredible, his riding is second to none and he is a perfect fit for our family.  We can’t wait to see what he surprises us with next.”

The entire Quiksilver family congratulates Randall Harris on his recent accomplishments and is honored to support him as he continues to blow minds and inspire the boardriding community.

About the Quiksilver Wake Team

The Quiksilver Wakeboard Team represents some of the finest talent in boardriding. Over the last few years, veteran team rider Ben Greenwood has hand-picked Collin Harrington, Jeff House, 13-year-old amateur rider Jacob Valdez and has now added “2007 Wakeboarding Magazine Wake-Rider of the Year” Randall Harris to the elite crew.  This talented and recognizable group, referred to by Alliance Magazine as “small but very powerful”, is all about style, passion and the evolution of the sport.  Ben Greenwood has a knack for discovering young talent.  As one of the most prolific riders in the industry and 2005 Rider of the Year, Ben leads the team by example. Collin Harrington is the ultimate boardrider.  Just as comfortable on a surfboard and skateboard, Colin hits it hard and is known as the best on-rail wake boarder in the sport. With the smoothest rotations and spins, Jeff House is all about style.  His effortless power and skill is exactly the way it should be. Jacob Valdez is the best grom in the country and he is blowing up with the best pros. Jacob is a phenom from wake to wake and is only getting better. And then there is Randall Harris: Enough said.  Visit http://www.quiksilver.com/team/wake/index.aspx for more information on Quiksilver’s Wake Team and related products.
